23-year-old Manika Batra, who is India’s leading table tennis player, has ended her association with her childhood coach Sandeep Gupta. Both were Delhi-based and Gupta started training her when she was 8-year-old. Batra will now be trained by Sanmay Paranjape in the Pune training base.

The reason for the disintegration is yet unknown and both of them were unavailable to comment on it.

Batra, in a meeting held on 18th March 2019, brought into the notice that she is splitting with her coach and moving to the Pune training base.

She had begun training in Delhi’s area – Punjabi Bagh at an academy headed by Gupta. She was 8-year-old, and today they ended their association which is more than a time frame of 15 years of team up.

She created history by winning 4 medals at the Commonwealth Games in 2018. Her contribution in winning doubles bronze at the Asian Games also was outstanding.

We wish a never ending success in her life…
