Steve Smith quits Rajasthan Royals’ captaincy position for the upcoming IPL 2018

Steve Smith resigns as the skipper of Rajasthan Royals in the 11th version of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2018. The former captain, Steve Smith, assumes to quit due to the prevailing circumstances following in the Australian team – the incident that had happened in Cape Town, has altogether flustered the whole Cricket World. Ajinkya Rahane to lead the team in the IPL matches scheduled in April 2018.

The captaincy quitting is because of Australia’s Cameron Bancroft, who has admitted tampering with the ball during the 3rd Test match against South Africa – and captain Steve Smith knew about it, and earlier warned him.

Rajasthan Royals will begin their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, April 9, in Hyderabad and then, against the rival – Delhi Daredevils at Sawai Mansingh stadium. The first home match would against Delhi Daredevils in Jaipur on Wednesday, April 11.

The Executive Chairman, RR, said that “Ajinkya Rahane has taken charge as the new skipper of the team. I think he is the best player to lead the team in this crucial season when the team is returning after a two-year stay. He made it all the time, whenever given him the privilege, be it for the national team or Rajasthan Royals. I wish him all the best.”
